A national park is a place planted for recreation and protection. It is used for conservation purposes. It preserves biodiversity and also helps in saving endangered species.
National parks are designated and managed by the state governments of India. Hunting and cultivation are not allowed in a national park and it is strictly reserved for the enjoyment of wildlife and biodiversity.
An area can be declared a national park if it has any of the following important characteristics:

Andhra Pradesh, officially known as Andhra Pradesh, is a state in the southeastern coastal region of India. It has three national parks and a total area of 1368.88.
1. Papikonda National Park:
Papikonda National Park is located between the East and West Godavari rivers in Andhra Pradesh. It was previously a wildlife sanctuary and later declared a national park in the year 2008.
The total area of the park is approximately 1012.86 sq. km. Papikonda is the largest national park in Andhra Pradesh.

2. Rajiv Gandhi National Park:
Rajiv Gandhi National Park is located near Proddatur in Kadapa district. This park was named after the late former Chief Minister Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy in 2005. The total area of this park is 2.40 sq km.

3. Sri Venkateswara National Park:
Sri Venkateswara National Park is located in Chittoor and Kadapa districts of Andhra Pradesh. It was established in 1989 but was officially declared a National Park in 1998. The park is spread over an area of 353.62 sq km.
